The increasing use of social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp help the performers connect with the audience in no time. “Instagram’s reels feature is a boon to us because more people, especially the youngsters, love to watch reels as it lasts for just 15 or 30 seconds. Combining contemporary and traditional forms helps them seek more youngsters' attention as they are keen on new varieties.
“Contemporary performances have more viewers than traditional classical performances; therefore, if we could mix this together, this could attract the audience slightly faster than the other,” added Revathi.
This is the case even with music and acting as well. Nowadays, people are addicted to cover songs more than the original ones. Applications like Smule make an entrance here and gives many opportunities to singers.
Many upcoming artists are being recognized by professionals in the limelight, and they are getting opportunities.
Sneha, an aspiring singer shares, “Smule is a platform where even professional singers post their songs allowing aspiring singers to join them. Some of them even recognize talented singers and give them an opportunity to debut. Even reels are an excellent way to gain exposure.”
Now with more hashtags and social media challenges, anyone can showcase their talents to the world.
